The Class of 2020 Scholarship in Honor of Haley VanAbel is so named after a shining member of the Class of 2020. Haley tragically met the end of her life journey in May of 2017 during her class’ Freshman year at MSHS. Haley’s smile was infectious and her sense of humor was both quick and witty. She wore her heart on her sleeve and was not afraid to speak up for herself and others, which made her a friend to just about everyone. Throughout the rest of their high school years, the Class of 2020 remembered Haley with stickers on their cars, sweatshirts, and in designing and creating floats for Homecoming. Even in graduating during a pandemic, the Class of 2020 turned to Haley’s memory and decided to dedicate their class funds to honor her in perpetuity with this scholarship. 

To be eligible for this scholarship the recipient must simply have a great sense of humor and leave their “Marq” in a positive way at MSHS.
